Wire mesh is often incorporated to enhance the mechanical strength and bond of the fireproofing material to the substrate in Fire Protection System. Galvanized steel wire mesh provides additional tensile strength, helping the fireproofing material resist cracking, under fire conditions or during normal operations.

Steel Mesh Materials:
Galvanized Steel Mesh in PFP application is commonly Black PVC coated finish.
PVC-coated galvanized steel mesh provides excellent corrosion resistance and can be used in moisture environments.
Black color of the PVC coating is common, other colors are also available.
Stainless Steel Mesh available upon request for more corrosive environments, where a longer lifespan is desired.
Mesh Size:
Openings in wire mesh typically in 6mm to 25mm. Specific size used depends on the thickness of the fireproofing material and the desired mechanical properties.
Wire Diameter:
The diameter of the wire used in galvanized mesh can range from about 0.8mm to 3mm.
Weave Type:
Common weave is twist / weave.
